Adaptive Surfing
We want Lost Shore Surf Resort to be the most accessible surf location on the planet!
The journey to become the benchmark for adaptive surfing started with our infrastructure and equipment.
- Accessible changing rooms in our indoor heated changing block for a comfortable experience
- 6 of our Waterfront Lodges, our Kurvs, have been designed by local company Armadilla and are DDA compliant
- The Kurvs should help enable a barrier-free experience and are located at the waterfront, for easy access to our amenities
- The water front area and facilities have been designed to be on a single level, so no need for lifts etc
- We have ramps installed for easy access to the Cove and have the best equipment inc. beach wheelchairs available
- We have 16 blue badge parking spaces available and located them as near to the water front area as possible
Lost Shore has partnered with the adaptive surf charity Inclusive Surfing Scotland (SC052597) to create a new wave of possibility, where people with disabilities can enjoy our surfing without the traditional barriers to entry, meeting the needs of each surfer to ensure the experience is as fun as possible.
Iain Donaldson, Inclusive Surfing Scotland’s founder, is a certified Adaptive Surf Instructor by the International Surfing Association, a specialist award that ensures coaches have the requisite skillset to deliver adaptive surfing sessions.
Iain is also one of the lead coaches for the Scottish parasurfing team and has supported athletes at events like the World Para Surfing Championship. He and his team will ensure you have an incredible surfing experience at Lost Shore Surf Resort!
